2030 ChallengeThe 2030 Challenge, issued by Architecture 2030, asks the global architecture and building community to design all new buildings, developments, and major renovations to meet energy reduction goals (compared to regional averages by building type) that increase from 50% today to 100% in 2030 at which point buildings meeting the Challenge will consume no fossil fuels.
Hennebery Eddy Architects has adopted the 2030 Challenge. On our recently completed Ford Hall at Willamette University we exceeded the current reduction goals by 7% and are currently designing the City of Portland’s Heron Lakes Golf Clubhouse to meet or exceed the Challenge. Additionally, within the firm we are actively researching ways to feasibly implement the Challenge on smaller scale/smaller scope projects.
